Create Your Stellar (XLM) Wallet: Quick Start for Beginners

Creating a New Stellar Wallet

If you don't already have a Stellar (XLM) wallet, you need to create one first. To do this:

  1. Click the ‘Creating a new Stellar Wallet’ button on the first screen of the home page.
  2. Read the instructions in the ‘Generate a new keypair’ modal window that opens, then click ‘Continue’.
  3. Copy the Public Key and Secret Key. Save them in a safe place and tick the checkbox ‘I've stored my secret key in a safe place’. Then click ‘Close’.

That's it, your new XLM wallet is created and ready to go!

Login to Stellar Wallet

To login to your Stellar (XLM) wallet, follow the steps below:

  1. Click ‘Login to Stellar wallet with a private key’.
  2. Read the warning in the opened window ‘Connect with a secret key’. If you agree, click ‘I understand and accept the risks of entering my secret key’.
  3. Insert your Secret Key into the corresponding field in the modal window ‘Connect with a secret key’, making sure that the domain name of Stellar Web Wallet is correct.

After following the above steps, you will enter the interface of your Stellar Wallet. To activate your wallet, you need to send at least 1 XLM to its Public Key. After that, you will be able to make transactions with Lumens.
